PUWER states that employers must provide adequate training in the safe use of work equipment. This extends to those working with and supervising the use of abrasive wheels. These are items such as bench grinders and angle grinders....

Who Should Attend?

PUWER 1998 states: Every employer needs to ensure that everyone who uses work equipment is trained how to do so safely including methods of use, risks involved and precautions to be taken. Every employer must ensure that managers and supervisors who oversee the use of work equipment are trained to do so safely. Therefore, this course is ideal for anyone who uses an abrasive wheel within the workplace or manages those that do.

Course Agenda

Candidates will learn a variety of topics including selecting the correct wheel, suitable PPE as well as working safely with an abrasive wheel. The full course content is: Legislation covering abrasive wheels Common accidents Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements Choosing the correct safety glasses Use of abrasive wheels in confined spaces Daily checks on abrasive wheels and tools.

This course generally runs 9.30am - 12.30pm or 1pm - 4pm

Welcome to The Training Centre in Knaresborough! Nestled in a charming town, this venue is easily accessible. To reach us, simply take the A1M exit towards Boroughbridge and follow the signs for Knaresborough. Merge onto the A168 and continue straight. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Wetherby Road/A6055, then turn left onto Mariner Road. A quick right will lead you to Rabbit Hill Business Park, where youll find us. Upon arrival, enjoy complimentary tea and coffee to kickstart your day. If you have any special requirements, please let us know in advance. We look forward to welcoming you!. Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the Half Day Abrasive Wheels training course, candidates will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate validates their understanding of safe abrasive wheel practices.

While the course may not be directly accredited by a specific governing body, it is designed to adhere to the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 PUWER 98.
