PAT Testing is a skill that can be learned by almost anyone such as office maintenance staff or landlords. Some basic electrical knowledge is useful but not essential.

Joining Instructions

This course enable attendees to carry out the process of Inspecting and Testing Electrical equipment ensuring that the participants understand sufficient electrical principles to be competent to carry out this work. This course meets the HSE requirements. Candidates are encouraged to bring their own PAT tester, if they have one., , It deals with a risk assessment approach to carrying out this activity to ultimately ensure that electrical equipment is kept safe in the most effective way.

Course Agenda

Equipment construction and classification will be covered in the first part of the course, providing an understanding of the different types of equipment and their safety requirements. Inspection frequency will also be discussed to ensure that participants are aware of how often they should be checking their equipment. Visual inspection techniques will be taught to identify any potential hazards. ##$$##The second part of the course will focus on combined inspection and testing methods, using appropriate test equipment.
