Course Agenda

The course begins with an introduction to the principles of cable avoidance, including the use of electromagnetic fields to detect underground services. Trainees will also learn about the different modes and settings of the CAT and Genny and how to interpret the signals to accurately locate utilities. This section also covers best practices for using the equipment and troubleshooting common issues.

Next, trainees will have the opportunity to practice using the CAT and Genny in a simulated environment, allowing them to gain hands-on experience and improve their skills. The assessment will cover both theoretical and practical aspects of the course and will be conducted under the supervision of a qualified instructor. Upon successful completion, trainees will receive a certificate of competence, proving their proficiency in using the CAT and Genny and their understanding of safe utility detection practices.
