Course Agenda
The Half Day Abrasive Wheels training course commences with an introduction to the course objectives, alongside an overview of relevant legislation, including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 PUWER and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Following the legislative overview, participants will explore the various types of abrasive wheels, their characteristics, and the associated hazards and risks. This segment aims to enhance understanding of safe practices when working with these tools in different environments.
The course then transitions to practical applications, featuring demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Participants will learn to inspect and test abrasive wheels, fit and adjust them correctly, and follow safe operating procedures, including dressing and truing techniques.
Finally, the training concludes with essential guidelines on handling and storing abrasive wheels, as well as emergency procedures in the event of a wheel breakage. A question and answer session will provide participants with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties and reinforce their learning..
Training Venue
Welcome to The Training Centre in Farnham! Getting here is straightforward. If youre coming from Guildford, hop onto the A31 Hogs Back and follow the signs to Farnham, avoiding the town centre. At the roundabout, take the A325 towards Farnborough, and after a couple of roundabouts, turn left at the traffic lights onto Hale Road A287. Keep an eye out for a BP Garage on your right, then turn right just before the dual carriageway.From the M3 Junction 5, take the A287 towards Farnham, and at the first roundabout, take the second exit. After about two miles, look for the Mill Land sign. Once you arrive, turn left into Rye Common Lane, take the second right, and cross the bridge. Park in Car Park P2, located beyond the CISTC building, and head to the canteen area of the CISTC Training Building for refreshments. Enjoy your time at The Training Centre!. Canteen
