Course Agenda

The Half Day Abrasive Wheels training course commences with an introduction to the course objectives, alongside an overview of relevant legislation, including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 PUWER and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Following the legislative overview, participants will explore the various types of abrasive wheels, their characteristics, and the associated hazards and risks. This segment aims to enhance understanding of safe practices when working with these tools in different environments.

The course then transitions to practical applications, featuring demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Participants will learn to inspect and test abrasive wheels, fit and adjust them correctly, and follow safe operating procedures, including dressing and truing techniques.

Finally, the training concludes with essential guidelines on handling and storing abrasive wheels, as well as emergency procedures in the event of a wheel breakage. A question and answer session will provide participants with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties and reinforce their learning..

Training Venue

Welcome to The Training Centre in Milton Keynes! Getting here is straightforward, but do keep in mind that parking is quite limited right outside. If youre arriving in a large van or lorry, you wont be able to park nearby. Instead, consider parking for free on Lyon Road, but be sure to arrive early as spaces fill up quickly.To reach us, start from the A5 Milton Keynes and head west on Rampart Way. At the roundabout, take the 4th exit onto the M54 ramp towards Birmingham. Merge onto the M6, then take the M1 exit. At junction 14, take the A509 exit and continue until you reach the Northfield Roundabout, where youll take the 2nd exit onto H6 Childs Way/A4146. Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the Half Day Abrasive Wheels training course, candidates will receive a certificate of completion. This certificate validates their understanding of safe abrasive wheel practices.
