Course Agenda

The Abrasive Wheels training course begins with an introduction to the course objectives and an overview of the legislation relating to abrasive wheels. This includes the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. The next part of the course focuses on the types of abrasive wheels, their characteristics, and the hazards and risks associated with their use. This is followed by a detailed discussion on the methods of marking abrasive wheels, wheel selection, and wheel storage. The course then moves on to the practical aspects of using abrasive wheels. This includes demonstrations and hands-on sessions on inspecting and testing abrasive wheels, fitting and adjusting abrasive wheels, and using the equipment safely. Participants will also be shown the correct procedures for dressing and truing abrasive wheels. The final section of the course covers the procedures for handling and storing abrasive wheels, and the steps to take in case of a wheel breakage. The course concludes with a question and answer session, giving participants the opportunity to clarify any areas of uncertainty..
