Course Agenda

The Half Day Abrasive Wheels training course commences with an introduction to the course objectives, alongside an overview of relevant legislation, including the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 PUWER and the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

Following the legislative overview, participants will explore the various types of abrasive wheels, their characteristics, and the associated hazards and risks. This segment aims to enhance understanding of safe practices when working with these tools in different environments.

The course then transitions to practical applications, featuring demonstrations and hands-on sessions. Participants will learn to inspect and test abrasive wheels, fit and adjust them correctly, and follow safe operating procedures, including dressing and truing techniques.

Finally, the training concludes with essential guidelines on handling and storing abrasive wheels, as well as emergency procedures in the event of a wheel breakage. A question and answer session will provide participants with the opportunity to clarify any uncertainties and reinforce their learning..

Welcome to The Training Centre in Bristol! Getting here is straightforward. If youre coming from the M5 motorway, take exit 18 towards A4/A403. Continue onto Portway/A4, then take the A3029 exit towards A38/Bristol. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Winterstoke Rd/A3029. Keep following A3029, then turn left onto Sheene Rd/B3122. At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Parson St, continuing onto Hartcliffe Way. Turn right onto Novers Hill, then left onto Cater Road. Keep going until you reach Bakers Park, where youll find Unit 4 on your right. Enjoy complimentary tea, coffee, and water during your visit!. Tea, coffee & water provided.
